Studied medicine at Cambridge and the Middlesex Hospital. Awarded the Posner Scholarship and Tyars Anatomy Prize whilst at Cambridge. Also studied peripheral nerve repair whilst a Bernard Sunley research fellow and was awarded an Arris and Gale Lectureship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Further research culminated in an MD thesis awarded by the University of London.
Appointed as a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at St. Bartholomew's Hospital in 2002. Moved to UCLH in 2009 to develop the Breast Unit in the new Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Wing.
I have a particular interest in oncoplastic surgery and breast reconstruction with the aim of minimizing both the physical and psychological morbidity that arises following the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
Widely published in peer reviewed journals, as well as a number of book chapters and review articles.
