Professional background

Mr. Ghassemi qualified at the London Hospital Medical College in 1995 and then went on to further training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery before taken his MSc in Surgical Sciences in 2001. 

As a Specialist on the North East Thames rotation, he received excellent training in all aspects of Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery including Lower Limb Reconstruction and Foot and Ankle Trauma, working at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children and The Royal London Hospital. His fellowship training took place at the prestigious Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford where his honed his skills in all aspects of complex Foot and Ankle surgery.

Mr. Ghassemi’s practice includes all aspects of elective and trauma foot and ankle surgery. He also has a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery. He has an ongoing interest in research and is also involved with teaching orthopaedic trainees.

Research interests

Mr. Ghassemi has also been involved in teaching and demonstrating specialist surgical procedures for some years now. He has published widely including a chapter on heel pain in the textbook European Surgical Orthopaedics and Traumatology.
