Professional background

Arvind Vashisht was appointed as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the University College London Hospital in 2008. He is currently the clinical lead for Obstetric services at UCLH.
He specialises in the treatment of women with pelvic floor problems including prolapse and bladder symptoms, and symptoms following childbirth. He has particular interest in minimal access, laparoscopic, surgery as well as vaginal surgery.
He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Cambridge, and then the Royal London Hospital, obtaining distinction in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. As part of his training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, he worked in the NorthWest Thames region and then completed further fellowships in Urogynaecology training at St.George’s, and ultimately subspecialty training at University College Hospital.
He completed a MD thesis from the University of London, following research work done on HRT at The Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and has received several prizes and awards for his work at various stages of his career. He sits on national committees for The Royal Society of Medicine, and The British Society of Urogynaecologists, and currently chairs the North Central London Urogynaecology Regional meeting.

Clinical Services

Arvind Vashisht works as part of the multidisciplinary Urogynaecology and Postpartum Pelvic Floor Team, and runs a weekly Urogynaecology clinic, as well as postpartum pelvic floor and urodynamic clinics. He also sees pregnant women with pelvic floor disorders to discuss delivery options.
