Research interests

  • Penile cancer
  • Priapism
  • Peyronie's disease
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Male infertility

Mr Minhas has an active interest in both clinical and basic science research. He has supervised five research fellows in basic science research in the areas of priapism, penile smooth muscle pharmacology, Peyronie’s disease and the molecular biology of penile cancer.

He has worked in collaboration with the department of pathology on molecular and clinical prognostic markers in penile cancer, which has identified patients at high risk of disease progression. This innovative research led to the award of The Royal College of Surgeons, Hunterian professorship to his MD student 2009.

Mr Minhas has co-supervised  one MS and two MD theses and 2 PhDs since 2003 (two have been submitted). In clinical research, he has helped develop national/international-standardised guidelines, quality of life questionnaires/PROMS in Andrology and penile cancer. This has developed good practice and national standards.
