Professional background

Andrew Eder is Professor of Restorative Dentistry and Dental Education and an Honorary Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at the Eastman. Professor Eder's career spans 30 years and is focused on excellence and innovation in clinical dentistry and continuing dental education. As a Specialist in Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics, he also maintains a multi-disciplinary referral practice in Central London. Professor Eder is a past president of three leading UK dental societies, a postgraduate specialty examiner at UCL, Chair of the Board of Examiners for Restorative Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons and has served on the editorial boards of several international dental journals.

Research interests

As Co-Editor of the British Dental Journal textbook on Tooth Surface Loss, Professor Eder has a special interest in the aetiology, demographics and clinical management of patients with tooth wear.

Other areas of interest include Digital Dentistry, Ethics in Restorative Dentistry and the Impact of Continuing Dental Education on Clinical Practice.
