Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital

This hospital is now closed to patients. Most Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital (RNTNEH) services are now provided at the new Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals, on Huntley Street, WC1E 6DG. Details on services located at other sites is provided below.

This site was closed in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Given our existing plans to close this site later in 2020, we have decided to not reopen the hospital and to permanently close the site now. This is slightly earlier than our strategic plan intended, with the RNTNEH due to close when ENT and oral surgery services moved to our brand new cancer and surgery facility which is due to open later this year, and sleep diagnostics and allergy day case services moved to other UCLH sites.

The services are now restarting following the peak of the pandemic. Sleep diagnostics and allergy day case services are based at University College Hospital and Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals. Until our new cancer and surgical facility opens, ENT and oral surgical services will be provided from alternative locations at UCLH and if required in the private sector.

  • Sleep diagnostic services at this location close on Friday 20 March 2020. From Monday 23 March, the service will be based at the Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals, Huntley Street, London, WC1E 6DG. More information is available in this document.
  • Allergy services at this location have closed. We are relocating this service as required. The team will be in touch with patients about their appointments.
  • The Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital wards and theatres have closed. The admissions team are getting in touch with patients to reschedule appointments. If you have any questions, please contact the admissions team – the telephone number is on your appointment letter.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
