Cardiac rhythm management (arrhythmia services and electrophysiology) 

Our arrhythmia service consists of a specialist consultant led weekly clinic performed by Dr. Oliver Segal, Consultant Electrophysiologist from Barts Heart Centre. It is designed for assessing patients with all types of heart rhythm problem, patients being considered for catheter ablation or simple or complex cardiac rhythm device implantation. Direct GP referrals and referrals across UCL Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are accepted, although please note that all electrophysiological and device procedures are performed at Barts Heart Centre. The clinic runs weekly on a Monday morning.

Conditions treated

Palpitations, dizzy spells and blackouts, arrhythmias, paroxysmal and persistent atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, SVT, atrial tachycardias, ventricular tachycardias, ectopic beats, tachycardias and bradycardias, heart block, sinus, AV node & His-Purkinje system disease, cryptogenic stroke and cardiac investigation, patients being considered for catheter ablation of all types of arrhythmia and patients being considered for pacemakers, defibrillators (ICDs), CRT devices for heart failure, Reveal LINQ devices, left atrial appendage occlusion devices and leadless pacemakers.
