Adolescent and young adult rheumatology

This service is unique in the UK, offering an adolescent rheumatology service that provides diagnostic and therapeutic advice to patients with any rheumatic diseases that occur in adolescence. We have a purpose-built adolescent unit for those patients that require inpatient care. Each patient is allocated 45 minutes for their first clinic appointment and 30 minutes for a follow up appointment.

Research is fully integrated into the adolescent rheumatology service.

Young adult rheumatology service

This clinic is designed primarily to facilitate the transition from the adolescent to the adult care setting for those young people with chronic inflammatory conditions such as juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and connective tissue disorders including Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) and Dermatomyositis.
