We provide a wide range of general paediatric services, led by a team of enthusiastic consultants and dedicated nurses. We provide Emergency Care via accident & emergency for all ages. We care for children & young people with a wide range of conditions. There is a daily general clinic where we see all the common paediatric problems. The department also offers a number of specialty clinics including:
- Allergy
- Asthma & Respiratory
- Epilepsy
There is also a daily rapid access clinic were children with urgent outpatient problems can be seen by a senior paediatrician within 48 hours
The facilities for children and young people at UCLH are outstanding. We have dedicated wards and outpatient clinics for children aged 0 to 12 years and separate areas for young people aged 13 to 18 years old.
Service statistics
We have a large outpatient service having roughly 5000 appointments per year. There are around 17,000 attendances per year in our Paedaitric A&E where we meet national targets on waiting times.
Waiting times for the majority of our clinics are between 1-4 weeks
Patient support services
We have a comprehensive range of supporting services that help improve the quality of care and hospital experience for children. These include:
- A large play specialist team
- A dedicated psychological services team consisting of clinical psychologists, psychotherapists and psychiatrists
- Specialist nurses provide support and advice for the speciality clinics
- Social services team
