Magdalena Dziadzio - Consultant in Clinical Immunology and Allergy

Dr Dziadzio has dual accreditation for Internal Medicine and Immunology.  She worked in Italy, where she obtained her PhD in Immunology and completed her specialist training in Internal Medicine.  She worked in the Academic Department of Rheumatology at the Royal Free Hospital with a research focus on scleroderma.  Her passion for immunology led her to complete her specialist training in clinical immunology at the Royal Free Hospital and she became a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists.  She has special interests in laboratory immunology, the immune mechanisms underlying allergic diseases, and the contribution of immunodeficiency and immune dysregulation to upper airways disease.

Dr Harsha Kariyawasam, Consultant in Allergy, Rhinology and Respiratory Medicine - Consultant in Allergy, Rhinology and Respiratory Medicine

Dr Kariyawasam undertook his specialist training at the Royal Brompton Hospital (rhinology and respiratory medicine), Hammersmith Hospital (airway allergy), St Mary’s Hospital (general allergy) and St Thomas Hospital (skin allergy).  He is lead clinician in allergy and medical rhinology and actively pursues clinical and basic science research related to airway allergy and immunotherapy.  His special interests include chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps, the relationship of these conditions to severe asthma, and the application of novel biological and immunotherapy treatments to these conditions.

Professor Marcel Levi, Consultant physician - Consultant physician

Marcel Levi is a consultant physician at UCLH. After his medical training and specialization in Internal Medicine at the University of Amsterdam he obtained his PhD with honours (1991) and was appointed as a Fellow by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Science. He has also worked at the University of Perugia, Italy and the Center for Transgene Technology and Genetherapy of the University of Leuven, Belgium.

Dr Joanna Lukawska, Consultant in Allergy Medicine - Consultant in Allergy Medicine

Dr Lukawska also holds a CCST Training in Allergy having undertaken general medical training at St Bart’s and the Royal London Hospitals before training in allergy at the Department of Asthma, Allergy and Respiratory Science at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals where she also undertook specialised training in drug and anaesthetic allergy.  Her special interests include eosinophilic disorders and immunotherapy (allergy desensitisation) and she leads the UCLH service for the investigation and management of drug and anaesthetic allergy, a service for which she is uniquely qualified.

Dr Michael Radcliffe, Consultant in Allergy Medicine - Consultant in Allergy Medicine

Dr Radcliffe studied allergy whilst working as a primary care physician in Hampshire.  He developed this interest though clinical attachments to specialist allergy centres in the UK and USA and by attendances at International Allergy Congresses.  He was appointed Associate Specialist in allergy at University College London Hospitals in 1995 and was promoted to Allergy Consultant in 1997, the year that allergy first became recognised as a separate specialty for inclusion in the General Medical Council Specialist Register.  His special interests include urticaria, angioedema, food allergy and anaphylaxis.

Dr Giuseppina Rotiroti, Consultant in Allergy Medicine - Consultant in Allergy Medicine

Dr Rotiroti is one of few UK physicians to hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCST) in Allergy following training appointments at Royal Brompton Hospital, St Thomas’ Hospital, St Mary’s Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital.  She lectures at national and international level, and is an active contributor to international consensus guidelines.  She has a special interest in Paediatric Allergy (allergy in children) and Medical Rhinology (diseases of the nose and upper airway).  In association with the UCLH Department of Paediatrics, she also offers an allergy service for children.
