The department of clinical parasitology offers a full range of microscopy and serology for parasites. Malaria screening is offered 24hrs. For malaria it is advised that a whole blood specimen is couriered direct to the laboratory. Alternatively refer the patient to the outpatients department at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases or the accident and emergency department if after 4pm.

Diagnostic results are available via email and post. Urgent results are telephoned.
