Ophthalmology services transfer

In March 2015, the management of UCLH’s ophthalmology service transferred to the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust (RFL).  The current UCLH service has become part of a larger service at the Royal Free London.

From 1 May, existing ophthalmology outpatients will continue to be treated at the current UCLH site, although the service will be managed by RFL. The Paediatric clinic will transfer to the Royal Free sites from July 2015 and the adult clinic relocate to purpose-built new premises at St Pancras Hospital in Autumn 2015.

GPs and referrers

We will continue to accept GP referrals up to the 30 April 2015. Any referrals received after this time will be redirected to the Royal Free and patients will be seen by the new Royal Free Ophthalmology service.

Patients

If you are currently a patient attending our ophthalmology service we will contact you with plenty of notice to alert you of any changes to your existing appointments.
