Neonatal care

Our neonatal service is a recognised centre of excellence and takes referrals for acutely ill and pre-term babies from across North and Central London and beyond.  These babies are cared for by specialist teams of nurses and doctors. The UCLH neonatal service provides integrated care with Great Ormond Street Hospital for babies needing surgery or the specialist support of other experts.

We have 17 neonatal intensive care cots and 15 special care cots in light and spacious surroundings designed to promote emotional as well as physical well-being. In addition, the neonatal team will continue to provide transitional care service allowing babies to remain with their mothers if special care is required after birth; this is supported by a multidisciplinary team.

Three en-suite bedrooms are avilable for the support of families who have babies who are unwell.
