Your hospital stay - a guide for inpatients

Coronavirus COVID-19 information for patients and visitors

The latest information about UCLH and the COVID-19 outbreak, including information for visitors, is available on this webpage.

Due to the increasing numbers of cases of coronavirus across the UK, we are trying to reduce the number of people coming into the hospital. Please check the latest information before coming to the hospital.

We know that coming to hospital can be a worrying time for many people. At University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust we do our best to make sure your stay is as easy as possible and to ensure you get the best care we can give. To help you prepare for your stay as an inpatient at UCLH we have put together the following information.

We have divided the information for inpatients into three sections:

Welcome packs

If you are admitted to UCLH for a hospital stay, you will receive a welcome pack.  This will be given to you by the team looking after you when you arrive on the ward. The packs have been designed to improve your comfort and safety and contain ‘all you need to know’ information about your stay in hospital, like how to raise a concern, a ‘who’s who’ uniform guide for our nursing teams and visiting times.

We’ve listened to what patients have told us would make their stay that bit better – so have included some essential items, like ear plugs to help minimise noise and an eye mask to help you rest, as we know not every visit to hospital is planned.  We hope you find the welcome pack useful – please tell us what you think at Uclh.patientexperience@nhs.net.
