Biography:
As an Audio-Vestibular Physician, I have been trained and accredited in Audiological Medicine, the specialty concerned with the diagnosis and management of hearing and balance disorders. My background is in General Medicine and Neurology. As a Lecturer in the Institute of Neurology to Prof Ed Thompson, my PhD is in the identification of antigen specific oligoclonal bands in the CSF, aiding the diagnosis of herpes simplex encephalitis. I worked as a Registrar in Neurology at the Middlesex Hospital, and was then a clinical research fellow in Harare, Zimbabwe, studying the neuro-otological sequelae of bacterial meningitis. I have been a consultant since 1991. My interests are primarily in balance disorders and the rehabilitation of patients with intractable dizziness.
