The Trust is marking MENCAP's Learning Disability Week on 21 June to raise awareness of learning disabilities.

MENCAP is a leading charity and a ‘voice of learning disability’. Its work focuses on valuing and supporting people with a learning disability, as well as their families and carers.

On Thursday 21 June an event in the UCH atrium will be attended by representatives from the Trust, including from the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery epilepsy team, as well as a number of our external partners: MENCAP, Camden & Islington Carers, Advocacy Partners, Centre 404, London Metropolitan Police, The Elfrida Society. Learning disabilities users from Camden will help facilitate the day.

Betsey Lau-Robinson, Trust Lead for safeguarding adults, said: “It is going to be an exciting opportunity to highlight how people with learning disabilities and their carers can be supported, especially as the Trust has undertaken focused work on improving the care of this group of patients”.

All staff are welcome to drop by to find out more in UCH atrium at 235 Euston Road, NW1 2BU from midday to 4pm.
