UCLH continues to be rated highly by the patients we treat.  We achieved the top overall experience score compared to our London peers, according to survey results published this summer. But we know there is still more work we need to do….

In the national NHS survey patients gave us an average rating of 8.4 out of ten for their overall experience.  We scored in the top 20 per cent of Trusts nationally for 4 questions, showing some areas of really excellent performance.

We asked more than 1,600 inpatients for their views last summer and their answers were analysed by the Care Quality Commission and published at the end of May 2017.

Although we maintained our excellent previous performance, we know we can do even better. We have already started work on improving the support we give to patients at mealtimes, for example. Patients also said they wanted to wait less time for a bed to become available and to be offered more support and information when they leave UCLH.

Chief nurse Flo Panel-Coates said: “The latest 2017 survey will be sent to people who have an inpatient stay in July. Please complete the survey if you are sent one – we take your comments seriously and we do listen and act on them.”
