Rainbow crossing paves the way for IDAHOT 2015

London’s first ever rainbow zebra crossing is making a guest appearance at University College Hospital for the next week as UCLH marks International Day Against Homophobia, Transphopia and Biphobia (IDAHOT) this Sunday.

The crossing, created by Transport for London (TfL), is on display in the main atrium of University College Hospital where patients, staff and passers-by can make the most of a great photo opportunity.

The multi-coloured crossing was originally commissioned as part of TfL’s support for the annual Pride in London event, which this year happens on Saturday 27 June.

UCLH’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) nework will be marching for the fourth time in this year’s festival.

Ben Morrin, UCLH workforce director, said: “I’m really proud that UCLH is the first hospital in London to bring the rainbow zebra crossing to staff and patients. I want to thank TfL for their kind loan of the crossing, which is a fantastic symbol of support for the LGBT community.”

The crossing will be at University College Hospital until Friday 22 May.
