Read our prostate cancer web chat

13/03/2014 00:00
We have just hosted our second prostate cancer web chat with pioneering expert Professor Mark Emberton.

The second ‘chat’ matched the success of the first with 35 questions posted and 79 people online during the one-hour conversation.   A broad range of questions came in – some were from people diagnosed with prostate cancer, others asked if prostate cancer is linked to ethnicity, or sexually transmitted disease. The chat was timed to coincide with National Prostate Cancer Awareness month.
Professor Emberton said, “The web chat gives people the opportunity to ask me anything about prostate cancer.  There’s a lot of information out there and I’m happy to be able to advise on what’s credible, what’s not and to answer any specific questions, within the confines of a web chat.  They’re not in any way a substitute for a consultation with a doctor but can help reassure people or point them in the direction”.

You can replay the chat in the window below.

We run web chats on a wide range of topics, giving patients, members and the general public the opportunity to join in a conversation with an expert in their field.
Future chat topics include allergies, travel medicine, epilepsy and oral health.  Click here for more information.
