Take a break from the booze

20/01/2015 00:00
Wonder if you may be drinking a little too much? Want to know more about how to cut back? University College Hospital is hosting an event this Friday (23 January) in support of Dry January, a campaign led by Alcohol Concern.

Advisors from Alcohol Concern will be available to chat to visitors, patients and staff about their drinking habits and to offer support for those wanting to ‘take a holiday from booze.’ Come along between 10am-4pm to find out more.

Visitors will be invited to complete an anonymous quiz ‘Don’t bottle it up’ -https://dontbottleitup.org.uk/ - and get advice on how to reduce their alcohol intake, particularly if they are at ‘high risk’.

The awareness event is commissioned by Camden Council.

Around 17,000 people took part in Dry January last year and many reported that it acted as a reset button for months afterwards, not only helping people to drink less per day but also to drink less frequently. Dry January is supported by Public Health England.
