Temporary closure continues: Children and young people’s emergency department

24/09/2020 00:00

Temporary changes are being made to children and young people’s services in North Central London to prepare for the busy winter period and a potential second surge of COVID-19 cases.

Our children and young people’s emergency department will remain temporarily closed.

If your child needs emergency care, please take them to a hospital with a children and young people’s emergency department such as:

Whittington Hospital, Magdala Avenue, N19 5NF
Barnet Hospital, Wellhouse Lane, EN5 3DJ
North Middlesex Hospital, Sterling Way, N18 1QX
St Mary’s Hospital, Praed Street, W2 1NY
The Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel Road, E1 1FR

The children and young people’s emergency department  at the Royal Free Hospital will also be temporarily closed from the 28 September.

If you need urgent medical help or advice but the situation is not life-threatening, you can call NHS 111 or visit 111.nhs.uk online. The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Parents can also seek help from their GP practice if their child is unwell.

For life-threatening emergencies call 999 straight away.

If you have any concerns about your health, or the health of your child, please do not delay seeking medical advice.

Our emergency department remains open for adults.
