UCLH joins World’s Biggest Coffee Morning

UCLH is joining thousands of people across the country to support the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support today.
 

The event is Macmillan’s big fundraising event of the year – in 2016 coffee mornings across the UK raised a record breaking £29.5 million for the charity which provides practical, medical, emotional and financial support for people affected by cancer and lobbies for better cancer care. 

This year, coffee and cakes are available in the living room area in the Macmillan Support and Information Service (MSIS) which is based in the University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre. In the last year the service has seen 22,299 attendances, a 10% increase on 2015/16. Dr Hilary Plant, Clinical Lead for Supportive Cancer Care and joint Head of the Macmillan Support and Information Service said, “Today is a great opportunity to open our doors to patients and the public to share the work we do. We’re here to listen and provide support and information to patients, families, carers or anyone who is affected by cancer. You don’t have to be a UCLH patient to access our drop in service”. Visit our webpages to find out more.
