The new governors are all patients or members of the public who will now have the opportunity to have a real impact on the care patients receive at UCLH.

The 33-strong governing body which is comprised of patients, public, carers, stakeholder and staff representatives are there to ensure the trust provides services which meet the needs and priorities of the community it serves.

The new governors will take up their posts officially on 1 September. Fuller biographies will be provided thereafter.

We would like to thank all the outgoing governors for the enthusiasm and commitment they have shown during their terms of office. We hope they will continue to offer their support to UCLH.

Elections to the Governing Body are held annually; the next scheduled election will take place in summer 2012 for seats in the public, London based patient, Non-London based patient constituencies. To stand or vote you need to be member of UCLH NHS Foundation Trust. Click here to find out more about becoming a member.

We will contact members before the election to ask them if they want to consider standing for governor – if you would like more information please contact the membership office on 020 3447 9290 or by email: foundation.trust@uclh.nhs.uk.
