Web chat: Keeping you on track - your sports injuries questions answered

28/03/2013 00:00

This web chat will take place on:

Wednesday 3 April 2013, 3 - 4pm

It may not feel like it but spring is in the air and it’s marathon season…. Whether you’re training for a marathon, and have some twinges and niggles that might stop you from going the whole distance, or if are you digging out your trainers for the first time in years and want to know if those aches and pains are down to being a bit rusty or something a bit more serious, our next web chat may be of interest.

Whatever your concerns, our sports injuries experts, consultant orthopaedic surgeon Mr Sam Oussedik and clinical specialist physiotherapist Mr Bruce Paton will be available to answer your questions in our next web chat.  Mr Oussedik specialises in knee and lower limb surgery

Mr Bruce Paton is a specialist physiotherapist specialising in lower limb musculoskeletal disorders, trauma, orthopaedics and rheumatology.

Both are very keen runners, and know what it takes to run a marathon, Mr Paton has completed the London Marathon three times and was part of the clinical team supporting the London 2012 Olympic Games athletes.

Both Mr Oussedik and Mr Paton will treat patients at the new Institute of Sport and Exercise Health (ISEH) when it opens in summer 2013.  The ISEH is a partnership between UCLH, University College London, English Institute of Sport, the British Olympic Association and private hospital group HCA.  The ISEH brings together research, education and NHS services under one roof and will enable NHS patients to access the same quality of care available to elite sportsmen and women.

To join the chat, visit the sports injuries web chat page on the day and type your question.  You can also set an alert now (in the window below) that will remind you via email when the web chat is it about to start.
