World's biggest coffee morning 2014

22/09/2014 00:00
Drop by the UCLH Cancer Centre for coffee and cake this Friday as the centre participates in Macmillan Cancer Support’s bid to organise the World's Biggest Coffee Morning.

Coffee and cakes will be served in the atrium of the centre on Huntley Street on September 26 from 9am to noon.

The event is Macmillan’s biggest charity fundraising event, through which they ask people across the UK to hold a coffee morning, and make donations from the day to Macmillan. All staff are invited.

Last year 154,000 people signed up to the coffee morning, raising a record £20 million for Macmillan. This year – the coffee morning’s 24th – Macmillan are hoping to raise even more money to help change the lives of people affected by cancer and we want to help.

The new Cancer Centre is the embodiment of UCLH's partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support who bring 100 years’ experience of developing innovative, groundbreaking services which put the needs of patients and families at the heart of cancer care.

But it is not just about the building. The centre is redefining the way patients are treated. It has wellbeing, rehabilitation and living with cancer at the heart of its philosophy. For example, a web-hosted `patient portal’ gives patients more control over their care and the Macmillan Support and Information Service.
