Professional background

Anthea Davy is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in Hand and Wrist Surgery. She was appointed to University College Hospital in 2012. She studied at the University of Bristol, where she was achieved a BSc(Hons) in Anatomical Science in 1992 and MB ChB in 1995. After a year as an Anatomy Demonstrator at the University of Leicester, she undertook her Basic Surgical Rotation at the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham and gained MRCS(Eng) in 1999.

She was appointed to the North West Thames rotation for Higher Specialist Training in Orthopaedics, receiving excellent training in all aspects of trauma and orthopaedic care, as well as developing her interest in hand surgery. In 2007 she was awarded FRCS(T&O).

She completed a comprehensive Advanced Training Programme Fellowship in Hand Surgery at the Birmingham Hand Centre. Subsequently she was appointed Senior Clinical Lecturer and Fellow at the Department of Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur where she specialised in hand and wrist trauma.

On her return to the UK in 2010, she began her Consultant career in the West Midlands before returning to London in 2012. In 2013 she was awarded the European Diploma in Hand Surgery. She is actively involved in the teaching and training of medical students, postgraduate surgeons and Professions Allied to Medicine.
