About Evergreen Ward

Evergreen is a 17-bedded ward on the 2nd Floor of the South Wing at St Pancras Hospital. Patients will remain under the care of UCLH during their stay on Evergreen ward. The majority of patients who are transferred to Evergreen come from the UCH Tower wards, predominantly under care of the elderly.

We are committed to meeting the needs of all patients and providing an equitable service to all. All of our patients are treated with respect and dignity by the team at St Pancras which includes:

  • Nurses
  • Doctors
  • Occupational therapists
  • Dieticians
  • Pharmacists
  • Physiotherapists
  • Ward clerks


  • Visiting hours are from 9.00 am until 8.00 pm. Visits during meal times between 12.30 pm- 13.30 pm is limited to ensure patients get the nutrition they need. We are happy for you to help us with your relative, should they require assistance with their meals.
  • Visitors are asked to wash their hands before entering and upon leaving the ward to maintain good infection control.
  • In order to maintain patient confidentiality, minimal information can be given over the telephone. To reduce phone calls we ask that family members nominate one person to call us and then update others.
  • We do not have laundry facilities in the hospital for patients’ clothes; so we ask that you assist us where possible in providing a supply of your relative’s clothes & nightwear.
  • Parking is available in the St Pancras Hospital car park after 5pm on weekdays and at any time during the weekend.

Useful Information

  • Chaplaincy: a Church of England priest, a Free Church Vicar and Roman Catholic sisters visit the wards regularly. In addition, The Well Centre, dedicated to reflection and prayer, is available for staff, patients, their families and visitors.
  • Events Programme: the volunteer services manager, in conjunction with ward staff, runs an events programme throughout the week. Wards also have a selection of games, including playing cards.
  • Telephones: Friends and relatives can contact patients on the ward phone, please ask the ward staff for the number. Patients may also use personal mobile phones.
  • Shop:A Trolley Shop also visits each ward on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

How to get here

Evergreen ward is at the St. Pancras hospital, which is located near Mornington Crescent underground Station. When exiting Mornington Crescent Underground Station, turn right onto Eversholt Street and then directly left onto Crowndale Road. Continue onto Pancras Rd and then turn left onto Pancras Way/A5202.
