Macmillan Integrated Cancer Programme (MICa)

  • About

London Cancer and Macmillan Cancer Support have forged a strong partnership over the past four years through the Macmillan Integrated Cancer (MICa)Programme. The MICa programme spans the cancer pathway from early diagnosis through to living with and beyond cancer – with patient experience and user involvement underpinning change and threaded throughout. The programme aims to:

    • Improve early diagnosis and patient experience and outcomes across the entire cancer pathway.
    • Empower individuals to be active participants in their health care and to support the transition and integration of their recovery into primary care.

The MICa programme will achieve its aims through:

    • Co-designing new models of cancer care, with a greater focus on presentation and earlier diagnosis, and parity of physical and mental health provision.
    • Putting innovation into practice to drive change at scale and pace.
    • Making recommendations to build a skilled workforce for the future.
