Phlebotomy – new system for booking blood tests online

From early next year, patients and GPs who refer patients, will be able to use Swiftqueue to book UCLH blood test appointments online.

This will help improve patient experience through streamlining the service, supporting our existing Call Centre, and by reducing waiting times. 

The function to book blood test appointments will be transferred from MyCare to Swiftqueue. It will be possible to view and book phlebotomy clinic appointments at most UCLH sites (except for EGA Antenatal) as well as Hunter Street, River Place, Kentish Town and Pine Street Health Centres online. Please note that GPs will continue to be able to book patients for Health Centre appointments only. 

For GPs that haven’t registered yet, please do so now at www.swiftQueue.co.uk/gp/.  The registration process takes approximately two minutes, and you will then be able to make patient referrals online for the available phlebotomy clinic times. You will find the security code in the NCL GP bulletin and in the letter sent to your practice.

Please note until the system goes live, you will not see UCLH Clinics listed on the Swiftqueue website. 

Additional Information

• Patients will still be able to visit the UCLH website and search for “Blood Test” to make their GP blood test appointment.
• Family members should still be encouraged to help patients make online appointments if patients have no access to online services.
• Patients can still telephone 020 3447 9051 to make an appointment as per current practice.
• A leaflet with the new online booking link will be distributed to GP practices and can be made available to patients and their families.
