The Red Cell Network organises a variety of events to educate and train healthcare professionals, and others involved in the care of people with sickle cell disorders, thalassaemia and rare anaemias.

    The Red Cell Network will be hosting an educational session which will focus on Pregnancy in Sickle Cell.

  • Rare Inherited Anaemias

    The Wessex and Thames Valley HCC will be hosting an educational session on Rare Inherited Anaemias as part of the National Education Programme.

  • Chronic Complications in Thalassaemia

    There are ongoing exciting developments in transfusion medicine and science with high quality research supporting evidence-based practice. This symposium brings together experts from various clinical disciplines and also leaders in transfusion science to provide an update on key developments.

    The North Central London and East Anglia HCC will be hosting an educational session on Chelation in Thalassaemia as part of the National Education Programme.

    The Northwest HCC will be hosting an educational session on Transfusion in SCD as part of the National Edcuation Programme.

  • Management of Pregnancy in Sickle Cell Disease

    The West London HCC will be hosting an educational session on the Management of Pregnancy in Sickle Cell Disease as part of the National Education Pragramme.

  • The South East London and South East HCC will be hosting an educational event on Bone marrow transplant in adult patients with sickle cell disease.

     

  • STSTN Sickle Cell Awareness Day (SCAD) Patient Event 2022

    Date and time: 13 July 2022, 10:00am to 4:30pm

    The South Thames Sickle & Thalassaemia Network will be hosting a Sickle Cell Awareness Day on Wednesday 13th July 2022 from 10am.

  • The Wessex and Thames Valley HCC will be hosting a Sickle Cell Disease Webinar on Monday 11th July 2022.

  • TRCN Rolling Teaching Programme For Sickle Cell Disease

    Date and time: 05 July 2022, 11:00am to 11:45am

    The Red Cell Network will be delivering a new rolling ‘bite size’ Teaching Programme over the course of 7 weeks, which will start on Tuesday 5th July 2022.

Saturday morning exercise classes are also available. Show off your artistic flair in an art competition, or become an advocate for fellow patients - there is something for everyone.

The research team at Whittington Health organise organise monthly meetings in the Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Centre to have a space to discuss research and other topics of interest with the Sickle Cell patients in the area. This may expand to Thalassaemia patients in the near future.
