Professionals from across the Network shall lead on a variety of topics pertaining to Sickle Cell and a service user with Sickle Cell Disease shall host a Q+A session for his lived experience.
Topics to be covered during the day:
- What is Sickle Cell? Genetics and Pathophysiology
- Sickle Cell in the community
- Blood Transfusion and Sickle Cell
- Pain management in Sickle Cell Disease
- Treatment Options in SCD
- Patient Experience Q+A
Prior to the study day, registered participants will be asked to complete e-learning modules produced by TIF (Thalassaemia International Federation) to help broaden and improve their knowledge. CPD Accreditation by the Royal College of Pathologists has been approved for this event.
