They provide a holistic approach to patient care, helping to manage complex needs such as allergies or support using artificial nutrition.

Dietitians can provide pre-operative nutritional assessments, reports and treatment plans for adult and paediatric patients who are identified as having pre-existing nutritional concerns.

Patients undergoing treatment for a head and neck sarcoma, or sarcoma of the abdomen may see a specialist dietitian as part of their treatment.
