Where the Sky Meets the Sea
11th July – 10th September 2025
A group show of contemporary artists exploring sea, sky and landscapes.
We are pleased to present Where the Sky Meets the Sea – a group exhibition exploring the transformative power of the natural world through a diverse range of media including painting, printmaking, textiles, and sculpture.
From the warmth of the sun to the rhythm of the sea, each artist captures the joy and tranquillity of nature, offering a visual respite and a moment of escape. As we embrace the spirit of summer, this exhibition celebrates the healing power of nature and the profound sense of peace it can bring to our everyday lives.
There is a wealth of research into biophilia – the innate connection humans have to nature – and its usefulness within healthcare environments. Biophilic design and artworks within healthcare settings not only encourages a connection between human and nature, but is also linked to improved cognitive function, psychological and physical wellbeing for patients and staff. At University College London Hospitals we often work with artists who create artwork that can be integrated into the built environment and so impact on patient and staff wellbeing within the space. So often, these commissions incorporate nature in their designs, to bring the outside world in.
Step into a world where the natural beauty of the outdoors is brought to life inside, offering a moment of solace, reflection, and renewal.
Our many thanks to each of the artists and galleries involved; Aimée Parrott, May Hands, Simon Gazzard, Sue Bridge, Jane Bottery, Shaan Bevan, Ella Squirrell, Eleanor Dorrien-Smith, Louisa Longstaff-Scales, Bench Allen, and Palmer Gallery.
