New Apheresis Machine £35,000

The Haematology Unit at UCLH is a UK centre for the specialist treatment of blood cancers. Our Apheresis service is fundamental to this service, offering bone marrow and stem cell transplants and other life-saving treatments and is a national service for patients with TTP (Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura). The new Apheresis Machine is vital for our young adult patients.

New Photopheresis £30,000

We are bringing light therapy - Photopheresis - to UCLH. It is essential therapy for our patients with graft versus host disease (GvHD), a condition that can occur when the donated cells/bone marrow attack the body after a transplant and until now not available at UCLH.

Kitchenette for 2nd floor Cancer Centre. £3,000

The Kitchenette will offer patients and families a much-needed convenient space to make drinks and snacks in the day care setting.

Portrait Photographer Project £6,000

Daniela is a documentary photographer who is capturing the patient experience and the impact that HCC is making on the Haematology Unit. We will be using her images for publication for new patients. Please get in touch if you are interested in sponsoring Daniela!

Portrait Artist Project £300

Simon Tolhurst is HCC’s portrait artist based in the Cancer Centre. He draws patients on the 2nd floor, on Thursday afternoons. Have your portrait drawn, or sponsor this important project!

Photography workshops for younger Red Cell patients £450

Photography workshops will bring together younger Red Cell patients on the ward to share their experiences

of health difficulties and wider interests outside the hospital setting, as part of a pilot for ‘therapeutic and creative expression’ (writing, poetry, drawing, photography etc).
