The Radiology department provides an imaging service for patients referred for imaging by clinics within the hospital.

The majority of patients requiring routine dental images are seen on a walk-in basis though appointments are required for special examinations such as sialography, scanograms or Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT).

The department is led by a specialist dental consultant radiologist who provides an image reporting service for the hospital as well as lecturing to postgraduates from the Eastman Dental Institute and comprises a team of specialised radiographers supported by administrative and technical staff. All professional staff undertake Continuing Professional Development and all clinical activities are practiced within the established clinical governance and audit standards. The radiographers participate in the training of students from a variety of disciplines within medicine and dentistry including dental nurses, radiographers, PCTs and MSc postgraduate dentists.
