For blood to clot normally, several clotting factors and blood cells called platelets are needed. Patients with bleeding disorders may have low levels of clotting factors or a problem with how their clotting factors or platelets work. Symptoms vary from person to person, but may include bruising and bleeding, particularly during invasive procedures.
