Margaret Voyce, relishes her twice-weekly volunteering shifts at University College Hospital. Making sure all the toys in the playroom are sparkly and spotlessly clean for our young patients or trundling around with her trolley bringing much-loved snacks and treats to patients undergoing cancer treatment: she loves helping at UCLH.
Margaret, from North London, whose late mum was a patient at UCLH, said: “I’m not a sit-at-home sort of person. I live alone and so UCLH has been a lifeline for me and has helped save my sanity! I can’t wait to see everyone in the voluntary services team, chat to patients and feel I am doing some good. It is a real pleasure and I always leave feeling much happier than when I arrived.”
