Tandem has now launched an app which allows you to:

  • Remote bolus from a smartphone
  • Connect to ‘Tandem Source Platform’ automatically (so that you no longer have to connect the pump to your laptop and upload data using the cable)

In order for your current Tandem T:Slim pump to be compatible with the app, you will need to take the following steps: 

  1. Check your mobile phone is compatible with the app. A list of compatible mobile phones can be found on the Tandem website here
  2. Complete the Tandem E-Learning Training Module. This can be found on the Tandem website
  3. Create an account on the Tandem source platform Tandem Single Sign On
  4. Once your account is created, download the latest software version 7.8 onto your T:Slim pump. You will need a micro USB cable and your unique update code to do this. Air Liquide have sent out emails this week with your personalised update code. If you cannot find your code, or think you have not been sent one, please call Air Liquide on 0800 0121 560 to request your code. Please find instructions on how to update your pump here
  5. Download the Tandem T:Slim mobile app from the app store/google play store onto your mobile phone.
  6. Login to the mobile app (using the same account details that you created for the Tandem source platform). Sync your phone with your pump, following the instructions on the app. Only one phone can be paired with your pump. Our clinic name is UCLH University College London Hospitals Paeds and this can be searched from the drop-down list.
