I was a producer for BBC Radio in London for over 30 years, specialising in arts and culture programmes. In 1996 my daughter was born at UCLH and three years ago I spent three months as an inpatient after surgery at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Queen Square. I have also been a patient at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital for over 25 years.

I now work as a freelance arts journalist, and welcome the chance to commit my time as patient governor to help improve the services offered to patients and to tackle the deep challenges facing UCLH.
