The Centre for Medicines Optimisation Research and Education (CMORE) is committed to improving use of medicines by enabling inquiry-based practice, research and shared learning across the patient’s health journey.

Medicines are fundamental to effective modern healthcare and new medicines have transformed the treatment of many conditions. However, medicines can sometimes lead to patient harm as a result of adverse effects, error, inappropriate use or failure to take as prescribed.

The goal of CMORE is to make the best use of medicines we already have. CMORE combines the clinical knowledge and experience of the pharmacy department at UCLH with the academic expertise from UCL School of Pharmacy and other academic collaborators in areas of medicines use and optimisation, pharmacoepidemiology and medication safety, and age-related medicines development and use.

The Centre hosts research fellowships, clinical placements opportunities, and opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate research and quality improvement projects.
