The Travel Clinic at The Hospital for Tropical Diseases (HTD) is a nationally commissioned NHS service offering comprehensive care for patients with underlying health conditions and/or complex travel health needs, including but not limited to:
- Immuno-vulnerable travellers (autoimmune, cancer, inherited disorders, HIV, transplants, sickle cell)
- Older persons (over 60 years)
- Babies and young children
- Patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding or individuals trying to conceive
- Travellers with allergies
- Underlying medical conditions (kidney disease, epilepsy, diabetes, heart diseases, haematological disorders, etc)
We provide pre-travel health advice and risk assessments, as well as antimalarial and other travel-related medications and vaccinations.
In addition to this, we provide post-travel NHS appointments to screen for asymptomatic infections in individuals returning from high-risk trips.
