Term 01/09/25 to 31/08/28
My connection with UCLH began when a close friend's premature baby received life-saving care here. Seeing him thrive today, at 8 years old, left a lasting impression on me about the excellence of care at the Trust.
Since April 2024, I've volunteered with UCLH's rapid response service, mainly on the shopping services for patients. It's rewarding work—patients deeply appreciate the support and are often surprised such a service exists. My decision to volunteer was inspired by my own experiences as both a patient and a carer at other hospitals, understanding firsthand how challenging hospital stays can be, and by a desire to give back for the exceptional care my friend's family received at UCLH.
I volunteer alongside my role as an economist at the Department of Health and Social Care, where I work on public health policies. With more than 10 years of experience in the healthcare sector, I'm acutely aware of the challenges facing the NHS today.
As a public governor, I hope to support UCLH in addressing its most pressing challenges and improving experiences for patients, staff, and the wider community.
