One of the FOIA Code of Practice requirements is for public authorities to publish more information about their performance in handling FOIA requests.
Our FOI compliance statistics report provides details of our performance regarding handling requests for information under the FOIA and contains the following information:
- Total requests received
- Total open requests
- Total open requests with permitted extensions – public interest test
- Total open requests with permitted extensions – complex and voluminous
- Total requests closed
- Total request closed within statutory timescale
- Total requests closed with a permitted extension
- Total requests closed outside a statutory timescale
- Total closed requests where information was granted in full
- Total closed requests where information was withheld in full
- Total closed requests where information was partially provided
- Total internal reviews received
- Total requests with a stopped clock for clarification
- Total requests with a paused clock for fees notice
ICO Enforcement Notice
On 28 May 2025, the Trust was issued with an enforcement notice from the Information Commissioner’s Office under section 52 FOIA. This notice can be read in full here.
In response to this notice the Trust has developed an action plan to address the three key areas which are:
- Clearing the FOI backlog dating back to 2020;
- Improving the frequency and transparency of compliance reporting; and
- Developing a sustainable plan to meet its legal duties under the FOIA.
