After treatment, you’ll join a personalised follow-up programme, which may include:
- Regular PSA tests and MRI scans
- In-person or phone appointments with your urology doctor or CNS
- Support to manage any ongoing side effects
Some people may join our patient-initiated follow-up programme. This means that you won’t have regular hospital appointments, but you will still have tests. Both you and your GP will get the test results either by phone or letter.
After treatment: what to expect
Finishing treatment for prostate cancer can bring mixed emotions. While you may feel relieved that your treatment is over, it's also common to feel anxious or uncertain. This is common if you no longer come to the hospital regularly or are still dealing with side effects. There’s lots of support available to help you through this stage, including:
- UCLH Macmillan Support and information Service (including a support group)
