Battery requests

Batteries are initially issued to you when you are fitted with your hearing aid. At some stage you will require more batteries, and these can be requested by email, phone or collected in person from our hospital site locations. Please refer to the 'Contact Details' section on our homepage to find these contact details and locations.

For each model of hearing aid, the battery life of one battery will vary. As a rough guide, we would expect most batteries to last approximately 7-10 days if using your hearing aid all day, every day.

Repair service

Once you are issued with your hearing aid/s from one of our sites, you may find that you need to come back to see us to have the hearing aid repaired from time to time. We provide this repair service in three ways:

  • Face-to-face booked appointment
  • Drop-off service
  • Postal service

Please note that we do not provide a walk-in repair service at any of our sites.

To book a face-to-face appointment, please contact us by phone or email to arrange an appointment with one of our technicians. During this appointment, the technician will attempt to repair your device and replace any parts that are showing signs of wear and tear. Most devices can be repaired or replaced on the day of your appointment, but for some models the hearing aid may need to be sent back to the manufacturer for a more comprehensive repair. If we need to send your hearing aid back to the manufacturer, we will unfortunately be unable to provide a temporary loan hearing aid while you wait for the repair to be completed and returned. In some cases this can take up to 8 weeks.

If you require a hearing test, a new earmould, or fine tuning of your hearing aid/s, a repair appointment will not be suitable. Please contact us so that we can ensure the best appointment is booked for your needs.

You can leave your hearing aids with us, along with your details, and we will aim to repair the hearing aid within 48 hours (excluding weekends and bank holidays). Please note that although most devices can be repaired or replaced with 48 hours, some models may need to be sent back to the manufacturer for more comprehensive repairs. If this is required, we will unfortunately be unable to provide a temporary loan hearing aid while you wait for the repair to be completed. In some cases this can take up to 8 weeks. Once repaired, our team will contact you to let you know the hearing aid is ready for collection. You can also indicate, when you drop-off the hearing aid, that you would prefer for the repaired hearing aid to be posted back to you.

You can post in your hearing aid/s with your details and an explanation of the fault. Once repaired or replaced, we will post the device back to you. You can also indicate, when you post the hearing aid, that you would prefer to collect the device once repaired.  We aim to complete any repairs within 48 hours of receipt of the device.
