Term 01/09/2019 - 31/08/2022

I have been an elected public governor of UCLH since the autumn of 2019 and I am also now an active member of the Friends of UCLH. I have been an Islington resident since 1989 and have a long personal and family association with different parts of UCLH over the years. I was born in London and after secondary school in Hampstead, I studied politics and economics at Oxford University.

My subsequent career took me into the varied fields of policy research, management consultancy and higher education teaching in social studies. I am also a governor of a local primary school near King's Cross. Now retired, in my mid-60s, at UCLH I have supported the work of other governors on transport issues and I was recently appointed to the Quality & Safety Committee where I hope to make a useful contribution. My aim generally as a governor is to try to ensure that public issues involving patient access, care and voice are addressed wherever possible.
