Laura Churchward is the director of strategy at UCLH. She was appointed to this role in November 2017. Her portfolio includes strategic development, fundraising, communications, property and the development and delivery of all capital projects across the UCLH. She is also the director responsible for COVID testing and COVID vaccinations on behalf of UCLH, working across the North Central London sector for both.

Laura was responsible for the build and commission of a brand new major ENT and Dental Hospital in September 2019, amalgamating two of our Hospitals into one location. Laura is currently leading UCLH's next major hospital development (the Grafton Way Building) which opens in 2021 and includes the commission of a Proton beam therapy service (one of two for NHS patients in the UK) as well as eight theatres, an ICU and a state-of-the-art Haematology unit. Laura has significant experience in service redesign, business case development and project management. Prior to moving into in strategy in 2014, Laura held a number of senior operational roles in the Trust, including the management of stand-alone sites. She has worked for UCLH for over 18 years and has an MSc in Healthcare Management.
