The Eastman Dental Hospital (EDH) is one of UK's largest secondary/tertiary care providers of dentistry in North London. The EDH caters for patients in London north of the River Thames and further afield, treating around 85,000 outpatients annually. It provides comprehensive oral health services, focusing on specialised treatment needs. These range from the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of all conditions affecting the mouth and facial bones, jaws and salivary glands. The EDH also undertakes the correction of facial deformities and treatment of facial fractures as well as the repair of damaged oral tissues including the teeth.
The EDH does not have a walk-in service and does not offer any acute emergency service except for patients who have suffered facial trauma. This service is offered through the accident and emergency department at University College Hospital.
All patients seen for consultation receive a copy of the consultation report sent to the dentist (regardless whether they are accepted for treatment or not) and are advised to maintain their routine dental care with their dentist.
Patients referred to the EDH follow a pathway of care that is compliant with the Department of Health 18-week referral-to-treatment guidelines. Our specialities (departments) are:
