UCLH’s children and young people’s emergency department and emergency inpatient paediatric beds have reopened today (8 April 2021). 

The children and young people’s emergency department is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Anyone aged under 18 needing care for an accident or emergency can visit us.   

To protect our patients and help stop the spread of COVID-19, we have visitor restrictions in place. Follow this link for the latest information

If you need urgent medical help or advice but the situation is not life-threatening, you can call NHS 111 or visit 111.nhs.uk online. You can also seek help from your GP practice. For life-threatening emergencies call 999 straight away.

Out of hours

The normal working hours for the Communications Unit are Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. The only media enquiries that will be answered outside of these working hours are urgent enquiries and those relating to major incidents. To access the out-of-hours service, call the switchboard on 020 3456 7890.
