Professional background
Dr Beth Payne trained in Glasgow, Oxford and London and specialises in the treatment of MDS and bone marrow failure. She has a special interest in Diamond-Blackfan anaemia and inherited neutropenias.
She undertook her PhD at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA studying molecular aspects of MDS and AML and ribosomal protein mediated disorders.

Dr Payne is an associate clinical professor at UCL Cancer Instiute and runs a laboratory research program focused on MDS, inherited bone marrow failure and cancer predisposition syndromes. She is a Cancer Research UK advanced clinician scientist and this research program aims to define the evolution of MDS from clonal haematopoeisis and identify novel therapeutic avenues.
